The Town Planning Section comprises four functions i.e. development planning, planning control, planning enforcement and environment.
It is responsible for processing development applications such as special consents, subdivisions, rezoning, relaxation applications and scrutinising of building plans.
The section provides information on the zoning and land use regulations and the environment for properties within the municipality.
It is responsible for spatial/ forward planning interventions such as the Urban Renewal Project and Beach Front Development Framework.
Deals with any queries relating to zoning and land use controls for properties that fall within the municipality.
